Location: Underway to Nuka Hiva

Hey all again! It’s Caro. Today was day 3 of our 20-day passage to Nuka Hiva!!!! This was the first passage where we saw no dolphins and whalesa pretty cool thing to say considering it’s day 3.
Last night’s watch was particularly interesting as we saw the weirdest lights in the sky. They would go really bright and then disappear. It was so weird. Our guess is aliens. Team 3 (Graham, Henry, Morgan, Jay, and I) had the 8 am-12 pm watch where it rained basically the whole time, but we didn’t let it dampen our spirits, keeping them up with good music. I woke up and found Paloma’s moisturizer spilled ALL over her floor and PFD. It was HILARIOUS. Then, not even an hour later, the olive oil spilled in the galley. We need to do better at our 40/40 skills. The rain then cleared up a little, and for lunch, Jay, Brooke, and Claire whipped up some amazing Caesar chicken wraps, which were delicious. We then went into marine bio class, learning about coral ecosystems. We then split into two groups for navmaster, doing charts and working out how to do running fixes. After I got some chill time and read some of my book for the first time this trip. For dinner, Jay, Brooke, and Claire made burrito-type bowls. They deserve a huge congrats for cooking when the boat was moving everywhere. We watched the rain come in as we ate dinner and did the squeeze questions of superlatives. It was so funny. We are also now one fork short. Thanks a lot, Graham. I like getting into this routine of passage, it’s very fun.

Sending all my love to my family!! I miss you all so, so much.

Bye!!!
