The students and crew of Argo woke up this morning to find that the struggle to make good pancakes still exists even on day 73. It was Ford Bohrmann to blame for the average to poor pancakes, however his smiling face and stubbornness to still consume his creation made our milk and cereal that much better. After breakfast we embarked in a caravan of small SUVs up the winding roads of Nuka Hiva to a beautiful point along one of the many ridges over looking the bay. Our guide Richard took us on a journey down the slope of the island informing us on such things as the history and formations of these Islands. On our tour we saw all kinds of ancient archeological sites and walked paths paved by the first inhabitants of the island. The flora and fauna was also a big part of the tour as students indulged in the many wild fruits of the island such as star fruit, grapefruit, and bananas. Finally, the rest of the day was dedicated to free time on the island or relaxing back on Argo. It’s a hard life we live but someones gotta do it.
