Welcome to Vela! Today is day 1 of our Spring 2025 semester on board Vela. We are so excited to have all of your friends, family, kids, grandkids; whatever these 16 incredible people are to you, we can’t wait to spend the next 90 days with them on board with us this semester. Now onto Liam, our volunteered Skipper of the day!
Today, it has the uniquely boring effect that comes with travel. Many of us had long and challenging days. Once we all arrived at the ship, we quickly started asking silly icebreaker questions to get to know each other. once everyone had arrived, unpacked, and checked in, we had a lovely stir fry prepared by Brooke, Emma, and Sam. We were then given our jobs for the night, along with an explanation of everyone’s duties. everyone quickly got to work. At the time of writing this, we were still missing a crew member who was eagerly awaiting the arrival. Never mind, she just got here.
