Location: Bonaire
Today was our last full day in Bonaire. We have been here for a couple of days, and everyone has grown accustomed to Wi-Fi, Shore Showers, and the general luxuries of Dock Living. This ENDS now. We’re gearing up for our 5-7 day passage to the San Blas Islands, supposedly the most treacherous that Seamester offers. They say there will be 20+ foot waves, but I think they exaggerate. I may find out slumped over the stern quarter, hurling my insides. Anyway, nothing can stop me. I will be a machine on this passage. No Sleep, No Food, and No Music, I will survive. In honesty, it’ll probably be just a little rockier than we’ve grown used to, which I’m sure we can handle. Also, I have no idea how she does it, but Morgan G is always making her crazy naan bread. Like do what she’s putting into there, but it’s really good-so glad we have her aboard.
The diving in Bonaire has been great. We’ve been traversing a rock-wall dropoff from a shore entry across the way from the vessel.
Today, we did four dives, and a few are having a night dive briefing as I write. We also collected our new refurbished sails and carried them back to Vela. Sam got the login information for the Seamester Instagram, so now we are getting properly featured there for those who would like a surplus of photos. We have been able to go onto shore whenever we wish, and it has been really enjoyable to be given the respect and trust to conduct ourselves in a most responsible manner. Nevertheless, I thank the instructors for allowing us to do these things, which made Bonaire our most fun stop yet.
I’m going to do a shoutout to my sister now because she got mad because I didn’t mention but I mentioned Maya Bell. Sorry My sister was also sailing on this boat 2 years ago, so it’s pretty cool to imagine her doing the same stuff I have been doing on here. It’s pretty jones. She goes to Trinity College in Dublin now, and she’s joined a new Hash-Running chapter, so hell yeah. I hope she is chilling heavily. This one’s for my parents and grandparents, it’s been nice being able to easily talk to you with the shore Wi-Fi. I will be making contact as soon as possible. Love you, Mom, Dad, Nanny, and Papa. Low key, maybe I should tell Maya that we do these blogs. Maybe she will read them, but she has been really busy spending a lot of time taking down her Christmas decorations. Almost 3 months, but she is putting in a sincere effort.
Anyway it’s been Jones hanging out with my boy Macaire LaBarge, who, even though he stole my soda he’s pretty chill. Also, we gotta work on building a gaff tomorrow before we leave. Ben Radford, Emma, Brooke, Sam, and Claire are D1 chillers as well.
Peace.
