Today was such a good day! We worked on a lot of stuff today for the rescue diving course. More specifically, we practiced search patterns to look for things underwater. Claire and Ben hid some dive weights, and we buddy up and used our skills to try and find them. It was really fun and felt like a scavenger hunt. While we were practicing our skills on the surface, one of the dogs from the pearl farm, Jewel, hopped in the water and started swimming with us! It was so cute, and really made us all miss our pets from home. When he got tired from kicking his little legs, he would hop up on one of our laps and rest on our shoulders, and it was probably the cutest thing Ive seen in a good while. Once we wrapped up rescue skills, we came back to the boat for some much-needed chili for lunch. We then had some time to relax, so some of us studied, while others slept, but most of us went snorkeling at the little reef next to the boat. It was super fun and we all enjoyed taking some pictures with Sams GoPro so she could edit and post them. Then we had some dinner and got all prepped and hyped for a night dive! We went in groups of 2, so the first group hopped in first. Right as we started to descend, a massive black tip reef shark seemed pretty interested in us, and while it was super cool, we were all getting kind of nervous. We swam all around the reef looking at cool fish and seeing the bioluminescence in the dark water, and before we knew it was time to surface again.
See you soon, Mom and Dad, Im so excited to see you guys again!
