Location: Ahe Atoll

I woke up to yet another Kelsey and Mac working on the discover diving part of their Dive Master course, which entailed Toby and Anna’s staff pretending as they had never done before, which was quite funny to listen in on. Afterward, we prepared to pull anchor, which quickly turned to disaster when we discovered our chain was wrapped around a rock. This caused some complications and delayed our departure to the pearl farm for the afternoon. After the anchor was up, it took us about 30 minutes to motor the three nautical miles to the farm where Argo stood off while we ran shuttles to shore with one of our shuttles, “Nopes.” Once there, we got a quick walk-around tour, which included a few of the original bungalows for workers, which were built over 20 years ago, as well as their vegetable garden. Before heading back to the boat, some folks got in the water for some snorkeling. Once through the reef and on the outside of the atoll, our crew spent the better part of 2 hours getting everything ready to set sail for one of our last destinations, Moorea. By the end of the evening, we were getting winds up to 30 knots and were absolutely cruising at about 10 knots with some moderate sea state. Heckuva, way to kick off our last passage of the seamester.
