Location: St. Barths
The day started at 6 am for watch team one. One of the most beautiful sights in the world is the sunrise over the endless ocean. Breakfast was nothing fancy, just self-serve cereal. One person would use a bowl, clean it, then hand it to the next person. During lunch, Eric and Marvin made chicken stroganoff with chili peppers. Finally, at 2 pm, we made it to St. Barths. It has been a year since I last visited St. Barths; it is one of my favorite locations in the Caribbean. Imagine a medium-sized French town on a tiny island with an even smaller airport. Airplanes just barely clear the peaks of the island before nose-diving onto the runway. It’s fun to watch.
After we had given the boat a thorough and much-needed cleaning, we had an hour, and some of us went and bought ice cream and groceries. Dinner was a delicious chicken Caesar salad with cheddar broccoli pasta. After dinner, we will be having an Oceanography quiz and hopefully some shore time to stretch our legs. I can’t wait for shore time tomorrow and a sure visit to La Creperie. P.S. Hello, everyone at home. We are fine and are safely docked in the harbor in St. Barths. I hope to get my phone charged and working again sometime soon. To Giuliano: I love you and miss you!
