Location: Nevis
The morning began with a calm wake-up song, followed immediately by Metallica and Captain Kevin’s 80’s playlist. Everyone knew it was going to be another adventure-filled day in Nevis. Marvin and Eric cooked up a storm and dished out some delicious eggs and bacon. After breakfast and clean-up, the crew headed over to meet with Barry, the cab driver. From then on, we split into two groups. Some of us went horseback riding while the rest of the gang decided to try their hand at mountain biking. I chose horseback riding because I knew I was going to be sore from the hike yesterday. Apparently, I chose wisely. After our leisurely horseback ride, we decided to catch a taxi to a seafood restaurant on the outskirts of town. The food was delicious. When the time came for the dingy rides back to the boat, we got word of the 3-hour bike trip that was still ongoing 5 hours later. So the rest of us decided to visit the local Chinese supermarket (the only thing in town that was still open on Sundays). Back on board, we enjoyed another delicious meal from our chefs and fireless s’mores for dessert. P.S. There is no phone service on Nevis! I just wanted to say Happy 22nd Birthday, Michelle, and I love you, Giuliano. I will try to call you guys as soon as I can! Also, I will buy an iPhone when I get back because, apparently, you can pick up Wi-Fi with it and check your emails when you are abroad. Oh well, live and learn.
