Location: Saba

The crew of S/Y Ocean Star woke up bright and early, had breakfast, and devoted most of the morning to the first Oceanography quiz and preparing the boat for our passage to Saba. Then we had lunch at the Bitter End before our long journey began. It was a long and exciting experience. During the voyage, we split up into groups that all took turns running through a checklist to make sure we were staying on course and that everything was running properly in the engine room. The groups who weren’t on duty had the option to go to bed; for some, it was the best sleep on the trip, and for others, sleep wasn’t an option due to seasickness. After an 18-hour trip, we arrived early morning off the coast of Saba.
