Location: San Blas
Today, we woke up anchored off the shore of 3 tiny islands in San Blas; we had a quick breakfast and clean up so we could quickly get ready and briefed on Emma’s Challenge course! We were split up into three teams by color: Green was Harrison, Maya L, Maisy, James, and Graham. Blue was Jake, Morgan G, Morgan C, Henry, and Harry. The pink team was me (Jay), Carolina, Paloma, Maya W, and Brooks. We shuttled off to the two little islands on the dinghies and began. Each team started off with a clue and was sent off to find their next clue, my team had to paddle across the reef to the other island on a relatively small paddle board, with five people, it was quick the arm workout. We made it over there and got other clues from Claire and Sam and were tasked to do things such as a blindfolded obstacle course, and a 2:00 video.
All three teams were running, swimming, and yelling all around the two islands and it was the definition of fun chaos. The pink team ended up back at the original island to find Emma with the final clue hidden in a bottle underwater, which we found and deemed ourselves (the pink panthers victorious). Everyone had a blast, and it was a great team-building exercise. After that we went back to the boat for some lunch and some classes. Everyone was quite sleepy in our classes after all the running around, but we pushed through till the end, where we were informed we would be moving Vela to a new anchor spot, where we would be allowed dinner and some beverages on shore. This immediately got everyone back awake, and we all prepared to move to the next island for our night out. Everyone rushed to put on their nicest clothes and got ready. We got to the island, where we met some adorable beach pups and some nice locals. We were served a dinner consisting of fish, salad, and rice with some sort of seafood chowder, which I personally quite enjoyed with some hot sauce. After dinner we hung out, enjoyed some cold drinks, and then played some beach volleyball with each other. During our match, we had a few interesting additions to our volleyball teams. When two fully kitted-out army men played the rest of the game with us, they were really good. We had a great time, and we all headed back to the boat for some much-needed rest after a long, eventful day.
