Location: Vixen Point, Virgin Gorda, BVI
Our sleep was cut a bit short this morning by a robotic voiced alarm clock declaring a fire drill. After assembling safely on deck with our PFDs, we ran through fire safety routines before an oatmeal breakfast. The sun was gloriously ablaze, lighting our picturesque surroundings. We set sail after cleaning up and motoring briefly out of our tranquil cove. The seas blessed us with steady thirty-plus knots of wind and relatively calm swells. About four and half hours in length, our sail saw us through a series of tacks and an underway lunch of wind-strewn sandwiches. We arrived here at Gorda Sound and showed off our vessel with a few more tacks before tacks. We then set anchor, underwent a brief lesson on mangroves, and then followed with a snorkel through the subject taught. We had a nice dinner and are now sitting for another lesson. We’ll all sleep soundly in the land of Gorda.
