The 8th day of our voyage started with some wonderfully prepared French toast. At breakfast, we were informed that today we would begin our small boat training. The shipmates were split into two groups: one to sail the IC-24s and one to take our PADI Open Water examination. Both were completed successfully as everyone passed the exam and returned safely from our morning sail. The afternoon was punctuated by “Hoby Cat Carnage” and beach time. Relay races led to casual sailing which led to several capsizes. It truly was carnage. This evening we look forward to a beach bar-b-que with tunes from local DJ Heavy B. We will then enjoy our first night out on the trip.
