Welcome to Egg|Mester on motorboat Argo. Cason and I both snapped awake to the horrible sound of the dreaded 8-12 wake-up for watch. It was a short debrief Mars gave us. This morning, the wind finally died down to a point where watch team two put away the main sail and started motoring. We actually are going pretty fast, surprisingly. It finally feels like we might make it to our destination. Watch team three had the 8-12 shift this morning, this means we get to do some lovely boat projects, today’s was no less fun than the other days.
Lunch was some tofu tikka masala made by undoubtedly the best chef on Argo, Gavi, and as expected, it was amazing. After lunch, it was a continuation of yesterday’s nav master exams. Another 7 brave individuals took on the challenge, though some people looked quite pale in the saloon, it probably went well for them. Most of the other crew, if not doing something productive, probably just rotted in their rooms for an hour and a half waiting for marine bio class. Class was a toasty hour in the saloon, and I guess after that, unless you were on watch, it was free time, not even sure if free time means anything anymore, as it’s probably just another way of saying nap time. Dinner did not disappoint; it was shepherd’s pie. Now it’s the 18:00-20:00 watch, and I get to enjoy the sunset. I guess today was a pretty good passage day; all the days are starting to jumble together, so it’s a little confusing.
