Hello, it is Toby again. You might remember me from the first ever Argo Spring 2024 blog. I know it feels like it has been years, but today is only day 11, I think. Today began for me when I woke up with the sun and the waves. I came up on deck to see some of the crew-mates having an ocean shower. My first thought was no way I was getting in right now, but my second thought was the realization that this would be the last ocean shower for the next 3 or 4 days. Obviously, I ended up getting in the water. I know what you are wondering, “Why won’t you be able to ocean shower for the next 3-4 days??”. Well, it is because we left this morning for our first multi-day passage to Bonaire. Woohoo. After some killer/bomb banana bread, we finished up all the passage preparations, then left the mooring ball and said goodbye to the beautiful island of Dominica. As we started our sail for the first time, no one got seasick (other than Pieter 🙁 ).

We raised all the sails we needed, then took a nice lunch break. We had hummus and some bread that I forgot the name of, but of course, the amazing chefs killed it again. After lunch, we had Oceanography and Seamanship classes for the next few hours. Then dinner rolled through to pull us out of the purgatory of the steamy salon, and the chefs made it even more steamy by giving us spicy chicken, aka curry pineapple. Now, we have the crew cleaning up the meal, and I am distracted by the fact that Mac is talking about how he does not use shampoo. I will be going to bed now. Goodnight, parents and others reading the blog. I’ll see you in 28 days. Toby out.
