Location: Prince Rupert Bay, Dominica
We started the morning off in beautiful Dominica with a fantastic sea chanty by Isaac and Hedrick. Bright and early at 7 am, we had a “15 most important things to know for a 15 question test” in the cockpit led by Sam. Our chefs Isaac, Ela, and Hedrek made some super yummy popovers for breakfast. Then we headed over to land for covid tests. On land, we met some super sweet strays and had lots of fun on a swing we found. Once we got back on Ocean Star, we had our first oceanography quiz then had some study time before lunch. For lunch, we had a rice bake that paired greatly with the candy we had after during our sediment candy lab. A few people then decided to take a swim to cool off before a mini boat appreciation commenced. We put the boat to bed and scrubbed top to bottom. Everyone did so great, and Ela only fell in once! Ocean Star has never looked better. We had a super yummy white bean chili for dinner, and after cleanup had a super exhilarating seamanship class. Before winding down for bed, our incredible head chef, Isaac, pulled out key lime pie bars, which was a perfect way to end the night (or, as Hedrek would say, “perf!”).
