Location: Soufriere, St. Lucia

After a night of sailing, Ocean Star and her crew arrived in St. Lucia around 9:30. St. Lucia is a mountainous place with a dormant volcano that causes the Island to smell like sulfur. After we arrived, we all jumped and played in the water until it was time to do some boat appreciation. We finished BA and ate some delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. Then, it was time to go on land and have a tour of the island. Our first stop was the botanical garden and diamond waterfall. We learned a lot about the plants found on this island, many of which are larger versions of the common house plant. We also ate “jungle MandM’s,” aka the fruit of cocoa trees. They were scrumptious. We then went to the inside of the volcano. The greywater steamed out of holes. After that, we made our way to Sulfur springs and sat in hot tubs filled with hydrogen sulfide. It was very relaxing, a treasured feeling. Now it’s time for class.
