Location: Soufriere, St. Lucia
After a night of sailing Ocean Star and her crew arrived in St. Lucia around 9:30. St. Lucia is a mountainous place with a dormant volcano which causes the Island to smell like sulfur. After we arrived we all jumped and played in the water until it was time to do some boat appreciation. We finished BA and ate some delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. Then it was time to go on land and have a tour of the island. Out first stop was the botanical garden and diamond waterfall. We learned a lot about the plants found on this island, many of which are larger versions of the common house plant. We also ate “jungle mandms” aka the fruit of cocoa trees. They were scrumptious. We then went to the inside of the volcano. The grey water steamed out of holes. After that we made our way to Sulfur springs and sat in hot tubs filled with hydrogen sulfide. It was very relaxing, a treasured feeling. Now it’s time for class.
