Location: St. Barths
Firebolt’s adventure in St. Barths began early in the morning when watch team three came into Gustavia at 4 a.m. The first adventure was trying to pick up a mooring ball in the dark, which was a struggle almost resulting in a man overboard, but we were successful and gained some sleep. Our crew woke up for breakfast and indulged in maple brown sugar oatmeal and coffee. After our breakfast, we cleaned our saloon and galley and made our way to Ocean Star, where we assembled our dive gear, and the open water divers made their way to the dinghies to get to the dive site. After our dive, both OceanStar and FireBolt made their way to the dock, where we began exploring the beautiful area of Gustavia and great culture. Once free time was over, we took an Emergency First Responder Exam, which everyone passed with flying colors. We are all now certified to administer CPR and First aid in any situation. Once we finished the EFR exam, we ventured back down the streets of St. Barth’s, exploring more of the culture and hunting down every gelato shop we could find. To say we were successful would be an understatement. Around 5:00, we returned to the boats to get ready for dinner at Le Select, a local Caribbean restaurant right off of the harbor. We had the choice of a cheeseburger, a fish burger, and a salad; it was DELICIOUS. Carib’s were also in the mix, which made for a very fun night! After dinner, we ventured to a couple of local night scenes where we grew closer in conversation and planned our adventures tomorrow. St. Barth’s is beautiful; we never want to leave. Deuces!
