Location: Underway to Moorea

Today marks one week until this program ends, and tonight is the last night of passage. Some of the best memories we have here this semester take place on the night watches on passage, such as seeing unexplained things in the sky, to having deep talks with our friends. The stars are incredible, along with a very clear view of the Milky Way. Finding stars and constellations is a popular activity on night watches.
We are heading to Moorea, which is only 36 hours from Ahe Atoll, where we were last. We are currently only 85 nautical miles away and under motor with the Main Staysail and the Forward Staysail up. Today, most of everyone woke up around 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. for lunch. Harrison and Maya W cooked quesadillas, bean salad, and chips for us, which was so good. After we broke up into our clean-up jobs, we had leadership. This was Emmas last class, so we talked about what we had learned about ourselves in these 83 days. Some students presented their destination presentations, which included Tahiti, Moorea, and Ahe Atoll. We got the opportunity to write short cards to each other, which will be given to us on day 90. Next was seamanship, where we went over our VHF exam, and then we ended the class after reviewing. Watch team 3 headed to their 2-6 watch while others worked on the last assignments and slept. Morgan C and Maya L prepared pasta and meatballs for us for dinner. Tonights squeeze was a superlative; everyone gets to ask a Who is most likely to. There were questions like Who would be able to squeeze a watermelon in between their legs, and others where who would become a millionaire in the most awkward way.

Shout out to my family back home, I can not wait to return and share all my memories with you!
