Today began with an early exit from Falmouth Harbour, Antigua, our destination being Barbuda, a large, low-lying island about 30 nm north of Antigua. The passage was very comfortable and in really nice conditions; it was definitely one of our best sails yet. Upon arriving in Barbuda, we anchored in a beautiful, seemingly untouched bay on Barbuda’s west side, one that borders 11 miles of uninterrupted beach. We immediately launched the dinghy and set out for the beach, which turned into a fun-filled afternoon of football, sand castles, and playing in the waves. It was one of the most beautiful places we’ve been yet, and everybody had a great time ashore. Tonight there is an OCE lecture which everyone is looking forward to, and tomorrow we set sail for St. Bart’s.
