Day thirteen started off well with a breakfast of French toast and a little bit of Boat Appreciation. After almost two weeks, O Star was beginning to look a bit salty. After thoroughly cleaning the inside and out, Dan led us in our second MTE class. Once MTE was done, we ate a fast Chicken Parm lunch and headed to Barb’s Touch Tank. After chatting with Barb about our origins and invertebrates, we got some hands-on experience in the touch tanks. Barb’s tanks included an abundance of urchins, sea stars, biting fish, gastropods, coral/anemones, crustaceans, a shy reef shark, a wild turtle, and a smart octopus. After dinner, we had an Oceanography class and discussed our research projects.
