Location: Port St. Charles
Today was a busy, SCUBA-filled day. Immediately following breakfast, we separated into groups. Already certified divers took advantage of a free day ashore, visiting Bridgetown, the capital city of Barbados and a couple went surfing off of (definitely the real) Miami Beach. The rest of the crew alternated between working on SCUBA skills in the water and finishing the instructional videos. The morning group worked on basic skills and learned how to deal with problems, such as emptying a full mask or using an alternate air source. It was especially difficult to find neutral buoyancy and to float in place. The afternoon group continued working on skills that they learned yesterday and actually experienced what it feels like to run out of air underwater. We are all super excited to finally get started with our open water dives and to see what else Barbados has to offer in the coming days.
