Location: Underway to the Marquesas

Good evening, humble gremlins who read this blog. It is my utmost honor to present this remarkably average day on a boat in the middle of the South Pacific to you. I will say, however, that an average day on a boat in the middle of the South Pacific is considerably more superb than your typical experience of consciousness on land.

Today aboard Argo, I checked all the boxes. Watch team 1 began our day looking at the vibrant (probably havent been seen in a year by Argo) constellations on our 12-4 until Nick popped out around 3 am and was incredibly disappointed by Gavis third (successful) helmsona attempt because he just wanted to drive the bus while we raised the main sail. Yay, we raised the main sail!

In the words of our fearless watch team leader, the man your dad describes himself as when he was younger (thank you Avi for this input), the guy with the worst peripheral awareness on this boat, evident in his astounding ability to unknowingly walk around all day wearing clothespins, and a self-described Zoomer At long last we have left the loathsome doldrums and are entering the southeasterly trades. The southern constellations are coming into view, and despite Martins claims, WE ARE SAILING. The engine has been turned off, and at last we have peace. Except that means now that any volume higher than a whisper will awaken the entire charthouse, sorry Meg.

My primary responsibility today was continuously screaming UPPIES throughout the salon and up front, pleading with everyone to mobilize for meals. Thank you, Charlie, for the life-changing and super professional term, uppies.

Nick, Nacho, and Colbie presented us with buttery grilled cheeses for lunch. Apparently, some shenanigans went down in Leadership class, during which I was being schooled in Settlers of Catan because Shane had the audacity to steal my longest road. Rude.

During dinner, the wind almost abandoned us completely, but we held out and are currently sailing through this fine night with every sail up!

For the squeeze, I proposed the opportunity to rob a museum with two people on Argo who are your accomplices, and what museum are you stealing from? After hearing the responses, Ruby, Jonas, and Will were the most popular answers, and now Im scared because two of them are on my watch team. Personally, I would rob the Museum of Natural History, specifically to steal the big whale, with Aidan and Ruby.

Currently, my watch team is hooning (going above 7 knots), and Will, Kaitie, Avi, and Grace are running around doing various workout exercises. The vibes are awesome. It might rain. Pray for us.

A brief note on the stars. Ive been learning more recently about the constellations learning the names of the silly little pictures in the sky and dreaming about the stories they might tell. The Southern Cross, Corvus, Hydra, Centaurus, Carina, Vela, Puppis (Argo!), Cannus Major, Orion, Taurus, Leo, Gemini, Scorpius, and Virgo. And soon, many more to meet. How lucky we are to navigate our way across an ocean with the stars as our guides and companions. And tonight, we were greeted by a tiny sliver of the moon, and tomorrow the sun will paint the clouds again.

See you next time in French Polynesia!

Hey fam, Im chilling! Never been better out here on the sea 🙂
