Location: Ile Fourchue, St Barth

As yesterday turned to today, the amazing watch team #2 had a watchful eye on our desired destination. With this in sight and rocks avoided, the team, with help from Smash, Steph, and Drew, began bringing down all sails under the light of a million stars. After anchor had been made around 3:00, it was time for a much-deserved nap. As the crew was snug in the bunks, the trumpets of one rude, annoying skipper began to blare (yours truly). After the rude awakening and a little hobble about, the chefs started the day off right with some cereal, granola, and oatmeal. While this may not seem like much, our amazing chefs today had much in store for us. Just you wait. With breakfast well and done, it was time for some much-needed boat appreciation. Some may say that we appreciate our boat every day, but on boat appreciation day, we give Ocean Star the attention it deserves. As bunks were cleaned and organized, there were teams providing the galley and salon with the much-needed deep clean. Of course, the heads were also given some attention, and while we clean them daily, Taylor and Elling provided them with a MEGA cleaning that cannot be matched. With all this happening below deck, all others were organized to give the deck a much-needed sparkle. While I would still not recommend eating off the deck, it’s safe to say that Ripley rather enjoyed the cleaning as this was her appreciation for the day. After our boat appreciation was complete and a cold refreshing beverage was consumed thanks to our provisioners, we enjoyed some lunch and a minor trip to our current location for tomorrow and the activities that we bring. This new spot brought with it a great swim and much-needed showers after such intense cleaning. While many were swimming and lot laughing, our chefs were already hard at work on our final meal of the day. Gavin, our head chef, along with his trusty sous chefs Lauren and Evan, created some amazing deconstructed potpie and a chocolate Oreo cake! Ending our day, we enjoyed an oceanography lecture about waves and tides, which perhaps may come into play in a few days, so stay tuned for more.
