Location: THE EQUATOR!

So today is day 45, which means we are officially halfway through the program, which is definitely bittersweet, but on the brighter side, we also crossed the equator! So, it is definitely quite an exciting day here on board. We are also on our last day of passage to The Galapagos and are set to arrive tomorrow morning around 9 am. Everyone is definitely very excited about that, as well. So, in my opinion, today has been super fun 🙂 We all started off with a slower morning, with people rotating in and off of watch until our first meeting time at noon for lunch. After that, we went to oceanography class, and all (hopefully) passed our first exam. After that, we all started to prepare for our equator crossing ceremony… the only requirements were to prepare an offering and show up in your finest attire. Me, Molly, Emma, Penelope, Mckenna, Courtney, and Anna all decided that the only rational offering was Anton. Sorry, Anton’s parents 🙁 But continuing on, everyone had some very creative ideas for a proper offering. Some went for the classic shaved head, others went for a nice mullet, Pieter and Sandra had a lovely poem, Sam gave up her marriage, and Alexandra sang a lovely French song. To finish off our ceremony, Olivia, our outstanding head chef, made some delicious tuna pasta to finish off the night. Afterward, we ended with a squeeze, and I asked who was a leash kid growing up. It seemed to everyone was pretty free range except for Mac and Toby, and there was a shoutout to Penelope for being a handcuff kid. Anyway, that concludes another great day on Argo. I’m so happy to be here, and I hope everyone reading this enjoys the photos.
