Location: Underway to Antigua

Hello friends and family! The job wheel has finally spun all the way around, and so I return as your loyal skipper. Today we left Barbados and are off to Antigua. I got everyone up at 7am sharp for yogurt and granola. Well, not super sharp because some of us crewmates are very emotionally attached to our bunks. After breakfast and cleanup, we went into to full passage prep mode. I got to hold the big, green clipboard, which was exciting and stressful. Everyone was super efficient and helpful, which I appreciated. For lunch, we had chickpea tacos made by Katie and the galley crew. The gluten frees got breadfruit tortillas, and I was hesitant at first, but they were quite good. After lunch, we raised the main sail and headed out. Marine Bio today was interesting. I enjoyed learning about intertidal zones, even though I almost didn’t make it through the class before heading to the cap rail. You’d think my stomach would be better adjusted by now, but I’ll have to keep trying. Anyway, dinner was a spectacular burger bar — I was excited about having both honey mustard and also gf bread that was enjoyable to eat.
Now for my own personal Rose, Bud, Thorn of today:
Rose: Hanging out with Audrey and Elisabeth at the main sheet and also splitting an orange with Ellie during Marine Bio.
Thorn: Getting a tad seasick, although I like to think I handled it like a champ
Bud: Antigua Classics and meeting the crew of our sister ship, Ocean Star (and crawling into my bunk tonight).
I hope all is well at home! We are having a great time and miss you all dearly!
