This morning, we woke up extra early to get on our 8:00 am train to Rome. Everybody hustled (well, not everybody), and we made it onto the train with ‘ease.’ After an hour-long ride through the beautiful Italian countryside, we ended up in a very clean part of Rome. We walked a few minutes to the Colosseum, where Matt (@TahoeMatt) was denied entry due to his camera backpack being the size of Jupiter. We stayed in for an hour and then made Matt take our picture before ditching him at the gate of the Roman Forum (sorry, Matt). When we left the Forum, we split off into smaller groups to discover Rome. Some of us got lost and found amazing places like the Jewish Ghetto, while others sat at one cafe for 3 hours because of a good internet connection. People went shopping, running, exploring, and by 6:00 pm, we were pooped. But the night had just started. We had our first night out in Rome at the charming Piazza Navona, where we split into small groups to dine on pizza and pasta at small cafes. When we left the Piazza at ten and walked to the train station, boarded our train, and wrapped up a great day in Roma.
