Location: Bonaire

A popular service offered at the Harbor Village Marina is laundry. Relief from the painstaking chore of boat laundry was a prospect that seemed too good to be true. And too good to be true it was. A two-day wait for the clean, fresh, and folded clothes was just long enough for many Argonauts to be left with their last few articles of clothing. Jonas fit into his shrunken beach shirt like an old man who hasnt worn it in years. Other odd outfits were donned as we walked the streets of Bonaire, judged by locals who either sat about for hours enjoying their cake and coffee, or ran alongside the beach in fashionable workout clothes.

We met up today at 1:30 to all go to Carnival together. However, there were no signs of any festivities. It was announced that Carnival had been postponed to Sunday. What could be to blame? Miscommunication? Island Time? Who knows. We are excited for tomorrow.

Bunk Checks consist of Shane inspecting each of our living quarters to grade us students on our cleanliness for Seamanship class. The first one was today. Evidently, many sub-par grades were received. An official legal document was penned by Ruby, titled A Message For Shane, begging and beseeching him to consider re-issuing the assignment. Reasoning was as follows: it was conducted on a day when we were instructed to remove the sheets from our beds, leaving them in our bunks in an atypically chaotic state.

Additionally, many of us were waiting to receive our personal laundry from the laundromat. Our bunks today were not representative of our usual levels of cleanliness and organisation. This official legal document was signed by the agreeing body of students and delivered to Shanes bunk. Upon receiving the document, Shane read it aloud during dinner cleanup, promising a redo of the grade, but also warning that all following Bunk Checks will remain random and unannounced.

Lessons Learned: 1.) Always appeal to authority 2.) Keep your bunk tidy. 3.) Dont make eye contact with the Dutch
