Location: Cook Bay
I screamed, “Somebody help my friend!” as I plunged into the brisk morning water. I swam over to my friend Sam to see if she was okay, but she was not moving. Before I knew it, Anton, Makena, and others were plunging into the water to help save my friend….You will all be relieved to know that this was a rescue diver scenario, and no shipmates were harmed during this reenactment. The rescuers did great and passed their practical exam! The rest of the day was a blast. We packed up a lunch, and after giving Claire a hand loading provisions from the dock behind the grocery store, we set off on a hike to the Belvedere lookout. The hike was great, it felt good to finally stretch our legs, although we quickly realised how out of shape they were from the sailing life! We took some beautiful photos and then moseyed back down the the lookout. Max, Anton, Chance, and Big Mike were blasting classic rock the whole way down and did not stop dancing until we loaded back into the dinghy. Back at the boat, we had a quick turnaround, and then we hit the water for some more diving! The site here in Mo’orea is so cool, and the water is so clear! I am proud to say that after the afternoon of diving, Kelsey and I are officially dive masters! That’s all for today. The countdown to the end of the program begins! What a bittersweet feeling.
Missing my family and Sam, see you all soon!
