Location: Underway to San Blas

Today is our third day on passage from Bonaire to San Blas here on Vela! I think that we can all agree today was good vibes all around. We have really gotten into the flow of our watch teams and have been enjoying hanging out, playing games, listening to music, and looking at the stars. It was an eventful day for watch team three (Sam, Emma, James, Harry, Maya L., Morgan G., and Harrison). Their watch was from 8 AM-12 PM, and they not only got to jibe, but James caught a tuna off the stern of the boat, which was exciting for everyone up on deck. Mac skillfully killed and fileted the fish up and everyone got to enjoy fresh caught tuna during lunch. As one of the only vegetarians, I will say that I did try a small piece and didnt mind it. After lunch, we had two classes, oceanography and seamanship. Shoutout to Brooke, Claire, and Sam for being great instructors, Im excited to learn more about the oceans and charting. After class, people took naps, got some studying done, and sat up in the cockpit to hang out and/or be on watch. The sea state has been mild so far, and we have been having some great weather so hopefully that continues throughout this passage. Another beautiful day on Vela, excited for tomorrow!

Sending love back home to Riley, Silas, Dad, Mom, and Kaya; miss you all!
