Location: Underway to the Marquesas

Last night, the job wheel changed, so in turn, everyone’s jobs changed. I was supposed to be the skipper, but then, because of the wheel change, my job was switched to sous chef. i was kind of disappointed because my last skipper day i didn’t get to do a squeeze question because we were out that night. somehow i miraculously sweet talked aiden into switching jobs with me today so i could be skipper! anyways. Here we are. This morning, I woke everyone up with a gentle good morningnice, kind wake-ups for a change. Skyler made breakfast of eggs, oats, and yogurt. You may wonder why the strange breakfast food lineup. It was supposed to be eggs and hash browns, but apparently the potatoes they shredded last night went bad, or as Skyler said, “they are in a better place now”. quickly after the clean up, we started passage prep for our 20-day. All went smoothly. We are becoming more and more efficient as time goes on. We then all loaded up into the dinghy and shuttled over to the docks so we could go to immigration. We had a very sad goodbye today. Jasmine announced last night during dinner that she was leaving today to go back home to Montana. We all gave her one last big hug goodbye and started our walk to immigration. Super easy. We just had to walk in to show them our pretty faces, and that’s it! We walked back and got ready to go back to the boat. We all kissed land goodbye and loaded back up into the dinghies. We straightened up before customs came on board to make sure no one took any lava rocks, shells, or anything crazy. After that, to be honest, I took a long nap, so I have no idea what everyone else did from 11-1. We had lunch and then headed down for the nav master class. I’m not sure if this class will ever get easier. The news got broken to us that our fridge is, in fact, broken as of right now. We cannot leave for our 20-day passage without a working fridge, so we must wait until it’s fixed to depart. Captain Nick made some phone calls and got someone to come help us figure out the issue. We had a passage brief about the 20-day period. Looks like we should have some good sailing! shortly after, Charlie closed the laz and accidentally locked Sarah in there (she’s fine), and Nick about threw Colbie overboard. Sunset was incredible. We raised anchor and sails. Late dinner tonight due to the unexpected events of the day. We are all in good spirits, ready to tackle this 20-day passage together!

Love you, family at home, and Natalie! Talk to you in 20 days!
